Hire people that fit your team and don’t just appear smart on their CV.
To me, other metrics are much more important when building a team.
In a nutshell: do they fit in and want to grow?
Back when I was still basketball coaching, I found that sometimes the best players on paper weren’t the best for the team.
It was sometimes even more beneficial to the team to cut them.
When the dynamic is off, the team doesn’t perform well.
I the team doesn’t perform well, you lose.
Simple as that.
That’s why you want to hire people that

💛 Work collaboratively
💛 Communicate efficiently
💛 Build trust among team members
💛 Want to learn and grow – the company and themselves
